Narrative:
I took evasive action on a TCASII RA while on approach to runway 35R at dfw. We were assigned 4000 ft MSL to cross over a B757 at 3000 ft MSL. He was on final to runway 36L. We visually had him at 4000 ft MSL and TCASII gave us a RA - - we climbed to 4500 ft MSL. We advise approach control of the conflict -- they stated that he was at 3000 ft MSL -- we reconfirmed on TCASII and visually that he was still at 4000 ft MSL.
