Narrative:
We were given position and hold las runway 25R. As we approached the runway I gave the throttles and brakes to first officer and announced I have the steering. The aircraft was aligned with the runway and rolled smoothly forward an additional 10 ft and stopped. I announced your aircraft as takeoff clearance was given. As the aircraft tracked straight to slightly left I released the nosewheel steering as I felt first officer making very small corrections to the right on the rudders. Approximately 3 seconds into the takeoff roll we felt the first signs of something wrong by the nose gear chattering. I aborted the takeoff. After the aircraft had stopped I noticed the nose wheeling steering full right.
