Narrative:

Metal ring of crew logbook came in contact with windshield heat electrical terminals. Logbook heated up and caused fumes in aircraft. Logbook was then removed from windshield and problem was corrected. Lesson: never put anything up on the dashboard near the windshield.

Narrative: METAL RING OF CREW LOGBOOK CAME IN CONTACT WITH WINDSHIELD HEAT ELECTRICAL TERMINALS. LOGBOOK HEATED UP AND CAUSED FUMES IN ACFT. LOGBOOK WAS THEN REMOVED FROM WINDSHIELD AND PROB WAS CORRECTED. LESSON: NEVER PUT ANYTHING UP ON THE DASHBOARD NEAR THE WINDSHIELD.
