Narrative:

We were traveling between noses direct to pakdo when we encountered an area/line of thunderstorms topping 40000 ft. Honolulu arinc denied request to deviate up 30 NM west of course so I declared an emergency at approximately XA40 thu/oct/94 and ended up staying clear of the WX but deviating west about 25 NM. We were back on course prior to pakdo and terminated emergency, I transmitted my approximately position on frequencys 128.95 and 121.5 to warn possible conflicting traffic.
