Narrative:
At extremely busy airport. Numerous lights of varying intensity. Unfamiliarity with airport. I was cleared for takeoff on an IFR flight plan in sequence with large commercial turbojets. Unable to identify nearby taxiway or runway markings. I was asked by tower to either takeoff or clear the runway. As I was trying to get my bearings, a turbojet landed. At the time, I was just inside the runway markings. This might have been prevented by more familiarity with runway markings, but given the almost impossible visual conditions, avoidance of any night operations at a large commercial facility would be more appropriate.

Title: ACR LNDG ON OCCUPIED RWY AS SMA PLT EXPERIENCES A TKOF DELAYED SIT.
Narrative: AT EXTREMELY BUSY ARPT. NUMEROUS LIGHTS OF VARYING INTENSITY. UNFAMILIARITY WITH ARPT. I WAS CLRED FOR TKOF ON AN IFR FLT PLAN IN SEQUENCE WITH LARGE COMMERCIAL TURBOJETS. UNABLE TO IDENT NEARBY TXWY OR RWY MARKINGS. I WAS ASKED BY TWR TO EITHER TKOF OR CLR THE RWY. AS I WAS TRYING TO GET MY BEARINGS, A TURBOJET LANDED. AT THE TIME, I WAS JUST INSIDE THE RWY MARKINGS. THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY MORE FAMILIARITY WITH RWY MARKINGS, BUT GIVEN THE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE VISUAL CONDITIONS, AVOIDANCE OF ANY NIGHT OPS AT A LARGE COMMERCIAL FACILITY WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE.
