Narrative:

Departed clow (IC5) approximately AM30, checked for radio transmission -- operation ok. Call control tower at dupage for permission to fly- over -- controller gave ok. Advised bound northwest to delavan (C59). When clear of fly-over could not make any transmission, and after checking equipment, realized I had electrical failure. Made return flight, and tried to avoid aurora (arrival) and dupage (dpa) by flying between them back to clow, however, I was unable to contact either tower, nor was my transponder effective.
