Narrative:

At FL350 near tul 080/13 DME saw a TCASII popup traffic. TCASII called traffic. Shortly thereafter, at 5-7 NM, TCASII called climb and vsi red lights went to 1500 plus FPM. I initiated a climb immediately while first officer advised ZFW. Target moved to 6 O'clock, turned yellow and TCASII gave clear of conflict. Maximum altitude deviation approximately 700 ft. ATC never called traffic and, when queried, controller advised the traffic was with ZKC. On the ground I called dispatcher. He talked with ZKC super and then I called kc super later and he stated that it was a ZKC problem and they were handling it internally there. I will also send a report to the TCASII coordinator.
