Narrative:

We were handed off to indianapolis approach. Approach then gave us a vector for the visual approach runway 30 at aid. We were then told to call the field in sight. We spotted the field at our 12 O'clock, and called it in sight and we were cleared for the visual and turned downwind. After making the turn we were told to contact the tower. Anderson tower cleared us to land runway 30 and told us to watch for traffic, a helicopter, he gave us a clock position on the traffic and gave the helicopter a clock position on us. Turning base, he gave us another clock position and a clock position to the helicopter. The helicopter reported us in sight as we turned final, and we continued with the visual approach. We feel that the communication from indianapolis approach led us to the misident of the airport, both of which are very similar in layout. The problem was compounded by the tower clearing us to land with clock position reports given to us and our traffic, which then reported us in sight. Furthermore, the localizer runway 30 for anderson was OTS. After landing at anderson the tower did inform us that this type of problem has happened before. And we were told this was a common occurrence. We immediately asked the tower if further action on our part was required. They informed us no, and that muncie tower had also agreed, and that this was the end of the matter. Indianapolis approach had also agreed with muncie and anderson control towers. We were never informed to contact any of these controling agencies about further enforcement action, and contrary that no further action would be taken. As per departing muncie to anderson, we had proper airport clock and were in contact with muncie and anderson towers at all times, the tower had already, via land-line, informed them of our intent. At no time were we not under ATC communication tracking. A flight manifest was completed and a notation made at the bottom of the trip card.

Title: ACR LTT LANDED AT MIE. ITS SCHEDULED DEST WAS AID.

Narrative: WE WERE HANDED OFF TO INDIANAPOLIS APCH. APCH THEN GAVE US A VECTOR FOR THE VISUAL APCH RWY 30 AT AID. WE WERE THEN TOLD TO CALL THE FIELD IN SIGHT. WE SPOTTED THE FIELD AT OUR 12 O'CLOCK, AND CALLED IT IN SIGHT AND WE WERE CLRED FOR THE VISUAL AND TURNED DOWNWIND. AFTER MAKING THE TURN WE WERE TOLD TO CONTACT THE TWR. ANDERSON TWR CLRED US TO LAND RWY 30 AND TOLD US TO WATCH FOR TFC, A HELI, HE GAVE US A CLOCK POS ON THE TFC AND GAVE THE HELI A CLOCK POS ON US. TURNING BASE, HE GAVE US ANOTHER CLOCK POS AND A CLOCK POS TO THE HELI. THE HELI RPTED US IN SIGHT AS WE TURNED FINAL, AND WE CONTINUED WITH THE VISUAL APCH. WE FEEL THAT THE COM FROM INDIANAPOLIS APCH LED US TO THE MISIDENT OF THE ARPT, BOTH OF WHICH ARE VERY SIMILAR IN LAYOUT. THE PROB WAS COMPOUNDED BY THE TWR CLRING US TO LAND WITH CLOCK POS RPTS GIVEN TO US AND OUR TFC, WHICH THEN RPTED US IN SIGHT. FURTHERMORE, THE LOC RWY 30 FOR ANDERSON WAS OTS. AFTER LNDG AT ANDERSON THE TWR DID INFORM US THAT THIS TYPE OF PROB HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. AND WE WERE TOLD THIS WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE. WE IMMEDIATELY ASKED THE TWR IF FURTHER ACTION ON OUR PART WAS REQUIRED. THEY INFORMED US NO, AND THAT MUNCIE TWR HAD ALSO AGREED, AND THAT THIS WAS THE END OF THE MATTER. INDIANAPOLIS APCH HAD ALSO AGREED WITH MUNCIE AND ANDERSON CTL TWRS. WE WERE NEVER INFORMED TO CONTACT ANY OF THESE CTLING AGENCIES ABOUT FURTHER ENFORCEMENT ACTION, AND CONTRARY THAT NO FURTHER ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN. AS PER DEPARTING MUNCIE TO ANDERSON, WE HAD PROPER ARPT CLOCK AND WERE IN CONTACT WITH MUNCIE AND ANDERSON TWRS AT ALL TIMES, THE TWR HAD ALREADY, VIA LAND-LINE, INFORMED THEM OF OUR INTENT. AT NO TIME WERE WE NOT UNDER ATC COM TRACKING. A FLT MANIFEST WAS COMPLETED AND A NOTATION MADE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TRIP CARD.
