Narrative:

We were in VFR conditions. However, the AWOS at the airport was reporting good VFR but when center gave us WX for hagarstown, it was IFR because of fog. The captain and I both saw the airport at least 10 mi out. We were in VFR so the captain elected to cancel IFR and continue visually. I am questioning which WX was official, ctrs or AWOS. If AWOS isn't official I feel we were in violation of VFR WX minimums because the airport was IFR.
