Narrative:

Improper takeoff planning led to creating unsafe condition - -aircraft too low in vicinity of people. Landed at resort on salt water bay for business meeting early am. At conclusion of meeting I took off to the northeast -- good takeoff, well clear of boats and swimmers. Not wanting to turn nebound because of departure at chatham (using runway 6) I turned northwest/west and found myself under 500 ft over the edge of the resort people. Poor prior planning.
