Narrative:

Air carrier X on final following air carrier Y, a B757. Aircraft switched to tower with only 3 mi separation. Air carrier X was sent around by tower. Supervisor notified, no entry made on daily log. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated both aircraft were on ILS approachs. Visual approach not in use. Reporter stated N90 constantly ignores wake turbulence separation standards behind B757 and heavy aircraft.
