Narrative:

Flight, sat hou. On arrival was informed of a tray table latch was broken. I checked mpl and found no reference to tray table. So to secure up table I taped table up with heavy packing tape and made annotation in cabin appearance long and noted to get item fixed at next stop at our hou maintenance station (we did). After taping, a 'knowledgeable' passenger inquired if this was 'official approved tape repair' of the table. I joked that it was. Did not intentionally do anything wrong. This reporter submitted in case I am criticized for the actions I took.
