Narrative:

On approach to raleigh durham airport at about 400 AGL the engine quit. I elected to land at a construction site with no damage to the aircraft. The reason I believe it happened was that I did not complete the pre-landing check by switching tanks. To prevent this occurrence, adherence to checklist and proper procedure is definitely the course to follow. Other human factors include: new route, new airports, stricter fuel management, saving time by making short approach, cockpit management don't let outside sits conflict with cockpit procedures.
