Narrative:

Aircraft was on initial descent for the fresno airport. Aircraft leveled at 12000 ft, the assigned altitude. An exterior cabin window separated in flight and a precautionary descent was initiated to reduce cabin differential pressure. ZOA frequency was congested and no descent clearance could be obtained until approximately 10000 ft MSL. Aircraft was then cleared to 3000 ft MSL and switched to fresno approach. Aircraft landed uneventfully.

Title: AN EXTERIOR CABIN WINDOW SEPARATED ON DSCNT, AND RPTR ELECTED TO CONTINUE DSCNT BEYOND ASSIGNED ALT WITHOUT ATC CLRNC BEING UNABLE TO COM DUE TO FREQ SATURATION.

Narrative: ACFT WAS ON INITIAL DSCNT FOR THE FRESNO ARPT. ACFT LEVELED AT 12000 FT, THE ASSIGNED ALT. AN EXTERIOR CABIN WINDOW SEPARATED IN FLT AND A PRECAUTIONARY DSCNT WAS INITIATED TO REDUCE CABIN DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE. ZOA FREQ WAS CONGESTED AND NO DSCNT CLRNC COULD BE OBTAINED UNTIL APPROX 10000 FT MSL. ACFT WAS THEN CLRED TO 3000 FT MSL AND SWITCHED TO FRESNO APCH. ACFT LANDED UNEVENTFULLY.
