Narrative:

While preflting F-100 fokker at ord approximately XA00 hours I noticed a #3 pitot heat fault light and called maintenance. They responded to our flight at which time they replaced the #3 pitot tube and again reset the system. The system again faulted however maintenance and the captain verified the system was operating normally despite the fault light. According to the MEL, this is all that is necessary for dispatch and flight. We then flew the aircraft to phl with no incident. According to the MEL and our interpretation thereof, there was no restr on flying the aircraft because the pitot system was verified working normally by maintenance and only the fault light was erroneous.
