Narrative:

While landing in iso airport everything was fine until last 50 ft or less. I did not feel in control of aircraft and went around. Right main gear touched down only. Next landing was fine. I don't know what happened except I had flown almost 32 hours in last 7 days and I had to fly from iso to clt with a lot of thunderstorms in the area. When I got back to clt I was supposed to fly clt-cae-clt which I could not (thank god) because of 34 hours in 7 days. The previous month flying total was 102.1 hours and 12 days off. It is also not uncommon for either myself or the captain to almost fall asleep on the last day of a 4 day trip (I've looked over and seen his eyes shut or when I say something it would startle him). For the month of may I spent 322.9 hours away from base (tafb) for june it was 331.4 tafb also in june I was on duty for 181.8 hours that equals 12.12 duty hours a day. The far 135 duty and rest regulations are a joke! Pilots should not be allowed more than 12 hours on duty. 16 hours is unsafe. You cannot get 8 hours of sleep, ie, 24 - 8 = 16. This does not include time to and from work, time to shower, shave, get something to eat, check in and out of hotel. Also, 24 hours off in 7 days does not help. It should be 1 calendar day off in 7 days. When you report for work (1 example) at 0900 am first day, 1140 am second day, 0940 am third day, and 0600 am fourth day, your body clock does not adjust and your body is ready for a nap. How many accidents that are blamed on pilot error were really caused by pilot fatigue by unsafe but legal schedules. The regulations do not even address sleep, only rest, but driving to and from work is counted as rest along with eating and taking a shower -- what a joke!
