Narrative:
While flying the VOR 30 degree radial from bpi VOR to pna airport, approximately 4 mi south at 8600 ft MSL, I was overflown from left to right by a 36 bonanza approximately 15 ft above me. Pinedale pattern altitude is supposed to be 7800 ft MSL. At the time I had just reached down and switched my radio from VOR to communication to call that I was entering the traffic pattern. I was not using a hood, only flying the radial visually.
