Narrative:

While cruising at 8000 ft on an IFR flight plan not in radio contact and probably not in radar contact with ATC, encountered cumulus buildups with bases at 6500-7000 ft. Tried center to request lower to remain visual. No response. Flew through one buildup experiencing moderate turbulence and moderate rain. Could not raise center. Descended to 6000 ft to remain visual and deviated around next group. Continued to call center and fairbanks radio to inform them of altitude and deviation. Took 10 plus mins to reestablish communication. Center asked for deviation reason and I informed them due to WX.

Narrative: WHILE CRUISING AT 8000 FT ON AN IFR FLT PLAN NOT IN RADIO CONTACT AND PROBABLY NOT IN RADAR CONTACT WITH ATC, ENCOUNTERED CUMULUS BUILDUPS WITH BASES AT 6500-7000 FT. TRIED CTR TO REQUEST LOWER TO REMAIN VISUAL. NO RESPONSE. FLEW THROUGH ONE BUILDUP EXPERIENCING MODERATE TURB AND MODERATE RAIN. COULD NOT RAISE CTR. DSNDED TO 6000 FT TO REMAIN VISUAL AND DEVIATED AROUND NEXT GROUP. CONTINUED TO CALL CTR AND FAIRBANKS RADIO TO INFORM THEM OF ALT AND DEV. TOOK 10 PLUS MINS TO REESTABLISH COM.
