Narrative:

AQN3 STAR FL110/250 KTS approaching hulen TCASII scope 10 NM ring TCASII 'climb' RA. Initiated immediate climb to FL120. Scope did not display target -- only text description at top indicating traffic was behind us. ATC cleared us to FL120 after the climb -- then reclred back to FL110 ATC only showed primary target, presumably low altitude entered in E-6 as possible TCASII malfunction.

Narrative: AQN3 STAR FL110/250 KTS APCHING HULEN TCASII SCOPE 10 NM RING TCASII 'CLB' RA. INITIATED IMMEDIATE CLB TO FL120. SCOPE DID NOT DISPLAY TARGET -- ONLY TEXT DESCRIPTION AT TOP INDICATING TFC WAS BEHIND US. ATC CLRED US TO FL120 AFTER THE CLB -- THEN RECLRED BACK TO FL110 ATC ONLY SHOWED PRIMARY TARGET, PRESUMABLY LOW ALT ENTERED IN E-6 AS POSSIBLE TCASII MALFUNCTION.
