Narrative:

I was on my first solo cross country as a student pilot. My route of flight was from daytona to melbourne, to sanford back to daytona. The flight went well from daytona to melbourne. When I departed out of melbourne I was a 1500 ft using the VOR. I noticed I was getting off course so I turned northeast to correct back. I then picked up my next check point and decided to contact sanford. I put my sectional away and called sanford tower. Tower instructed me to enter downwind runway 9L. I saw an airport off to my left. I thought I was further than I actually was, so I believed that the airport I saw was sanford. I proceeded to enter his traffic pattern. I then told the tower I was turning base for what I thought was runway 9. The tower informed me that they did not have me in sight. I then noticed that it was the wrong runway and I informed sanford tower that I did not have runway 9 in sight. I told them that I saw runway 7. I asked 3 times if I should go around they did not answer me, so I landed. I pulled off the runway and followed a ground vehicle. They told me that I had landed at orlando executive. The problem occurred from my failure to continue to use my sectional and flight log. I am currently doing extra cross country training with my instructor. We are working on improving my airport identify and use of flight logs and sectional charts.

Narrative: I WAS ON MY FIRST SOLO XCOUNTRY AS A STUDENT PLT. MY RTE OF FLT WAS FROM DAYTONA TO MELBOURNE, TO SANFORD BACK TO DAYTONA. THE FLT WENT WELL FROM DAYTONA TO MELBOURNE. WHEN I DEPARTED OUT OF MELBOURNE I WAS A 1500 FT USING THE VOR. I NOTICED I WAS GETTING OFF COURSE SO I TURNED NE TO CORRECT BACK. I THEN PICKED UP MY NEXT CHK POINT AND DECIDED TO CONTACT SANFORD. I PUT MY SECTIONAL AWAY AND CALLED SANFORD TWR. TWR INSTRUCTED ME TO ENTER DOWNWIND RWY 9L. I SAW AN ARPT OFF TO MY L. I THOUGHT I WAS FURTHER THAN I ACTUALLY WAS, SO I BELIEVED THAT THE ARPT I SAW WAS SANFORD. I PROCEEDED TO ENTER HIS TFC PATTERN. I THEN TOLD THE TWR I WAS TURNING BASE FOR WHAT I THOUGHT WAS RWY 9. THE TWR INFORMED ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ME IN SIGHT. I THEN NOTICED THAT IT WAS THE WRONG RWY AND I INFORMED SANFORD TWR THAT I DID NOT HAVE RWY 9 IN SIGHT. I TOLD THEM THAT I SAW RWY 7. I ASKED 3 TIMES IF I SHOULD GAR THEY DID NOT ANSWER ME, SO I LANDED. I PULLED OFF THE RWY AND FOLLOWED A GND VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD LANDED AT ORLANDO EXECUTIVE. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED FROM MY FAILURE TO CONTINUE TO USE MY SECTIONAL AND FLT LOG. I AM CURRENTLY DOING EXTRA XCOUNTRY TRAINING WITH MY INSTRUCTOR. WE ARE WORKING ON IMPROVING MY ARPT IDENT AND USE OF FLT LOGS AND SECTIONAL CHARTS.
