Narrative:

I landed at H-88 in a no wind situation in a 1946 funk C-85 (tail- dragger). After a 3 point landing the right wheel pulled the aircraft to right hard. I applied full hard left rudder to correct and nothing happened, then applied hard left toe brake and no results. At this time I'm heading toward grass at side of field. I gave aircraft full power to get control possibly from propeller blast or gain flying speed to go around. The grass (hay) was not mown and I clipped a landing (runway) light with the propeller. I continued down through ditch and finally stopping. I couldn't see the landing (runway) light because I had my hands full trying to control that taildragger. Later I secured the aircraft. My reasons for this letter is only to report the unmowed grass or hay on sides of the runway.

Title: TAILDRAGGER PLT HAS LOSS OF ACFT CTL ON LNDG. RWY EXCURSION INTO GRASS WITH LNDG (RWY) LIGHT IN THE WAY.

Narrative: I LANDED AT H-88 IN A NO WIND SIT IN A 1946 FUNK C-85 (TAIL- DRAGGER). AFTER A 3 POINT LNDG THE R WHEEL PULLED THE ACFT TO R HARD. I APPLIED FULL HARD L RUDDER TO CORRECT AND NOTHING HAPPENED, THEN APPLIED HARD L TOE BRAKE AND NO RESULTS. AT THIS TIME I'M HDG TOWARD GRASS AT SIDE OF FIELD. I GAVE ACFT FULL PWR TO GET CTL POSSIBLY FROM PROP BLAST OR GAIN FLYING SPD TO GAR. THE GRASS (HAY) WAS NOT MOWN AND I CLIPPED A LNDG (RWY) LIGHT WITH THE PROP. I CONTINUED DOWN THROUGH DITCH AND FINALLY STOPPING. I COULDN'T SEE THE LNDG (RWY) LIGHT BECAUSE I HAD MY HANDS FULL TRYING TO CTL THAT TAILDRAGGER. LATER I SECURED THE ACFT. MY REASONS FOR THIS LETTER IS ONLY TO RPT THE UNMOWED GRASS OR HAY ON SIDES OF THE RWY.
