Narrative:

Flight was pushed back from gate in clt AM47 local. Company procedure is to taxi on 1 engine for fuel conservation and owing to design of hydraulic system, left engine is specified. Aircraft was taxied straight ahead 5-10 ft before commencing left turn. After approximately 456 degrees of turn, aircraft lost momentum almost as though ramp were slightly uphill, so power was increased to 1.2 EPR. Due to proximity of aircraft on gate to left, turn could not be widened. Nosewheel began to scuff so aircraft stopped and #2 engine was started. Then taxi re-initiated. Upon arrival gso, advised by company that F-100 was damaged by our jet blast in clt. This was first time we were aware another aircraft had been in vicinity. In my opinion, problem stemmed from lack of proper communication from ground personnel as to proximity of other aircraft as well as improper training of ground personnel whose duties also include cleaning aircraft. If operator had been cognizant of situation. Single engine taxi would not have been attempted.

Title: PARKED ACFT DAMAGED BY JET BLAST ENCOUNTER DURING RAMP OP RAMP DEP PROC.

Narrative: FLT WAS PUSHED BACK FROM GATE IN CLT AM47 LCL. COMPANY PROC IS TO TAXI ON 1 ENG FOR FUEL CONSERVATION AND OWING TO DESIGN OF HYD SYS, L ENG IS SPECIFIED. ACFT WAS TAXIED STRAIGHT AHEAD 5-10 FT BEFORE COMMENCING L TURN. AFTER APPROX 456 DEGS OF TURN, ACFT LOST MOMENTUM ALMOST AS THOUGH RAMP WERE SLIGHTLY UPHILL, SO PWR WAS INCREASED TO 1.2 EPR. DUE TO PROX OF ACFT ON GATE TO L, TURN COULD NOT BE WIDENED. NOSEWHEEL BEGAN TO SCUFF SO ACFT STOPPED AND #2 ENG WAS STARTED. THEN TAXI RE-INITIATED. UPON ARR GSO, ADVISED BY COMPANY THAT F-100 WAS DAMAGED BY OUR JET BLAST IN CLT. THIS WAS FIRST TIME WE WERE AWARE ANOTHER ACFT HAD BEEN IN VICINITY. IN MY OPINION, PROB STEMMED FROM LACK OF PROPER COM FROM GND PERSONNEL AS TO PROX OF OTHER ACFT AS WELL AS IMPROPER TRAINING OF GND PERSONNEL WHOSE DUTIES ALSO INCLUDE CLEANING ACFT. IF OPERATOR HAD BEEN COGNIZANT OF SIT. SINGLE ENG TAXI WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTED.
