Narrative:

Inbound flight arrived with numerous logbook write-ups and deferred items. The #3 engine was slow to accelerate on one of those write-ups. Maintenance was performed and the aircraft signed off as airworthy with the provision that the air crew accomplish an engine run-up to see if it met required parameters. This was to be accomplished as part of the predep checks. While lined up on the runway 19R mci, the engines were run up. The #3 engine failed the run-up test and the aircraft returned to the gate. The passenger were removed and the flight was canceled.
