Narrative:

While demonstrating a soft/short field takeoff on harlan municipal sod runway, the plane was accelerated down the runway with full power. Airspeed was not achieved at the proper distance and the takeoff was aborted. While trying to stop prior to the fence at the end of the runway, the plane was steered to the left and the right tip of the horizontal stabilizer struck a fence post, bending the tail to the left.

Title: ACFT DAMAGED IN TKOF ABORT.

Narrative: WHILE DEMONSTRATING A SOFT/SHORT FIELD TKOF ON HARLAN MUNICIPAL SOD RWY, THE PLANE WAS ACCELERATED DOWN THE RWY WITH FULL PWR. AIRSPD WAS NOT ACHIEVED AT THE PROPER DISTANCE AND THE TKOF WAS ABORTED. WHILE TRYING TO STOP PRIOR TO THE FENCE AT THE END OF THE RWY, THE PLANE WAS STEERED TO THE L AND THE R TIP OF THE HORIZ STABILIZER STRUCK A FENCE POST, BENDING THE TAIL TO THE L.
