Narrative:
A boeing 737-300 arrived on a through trip with an APU that would not start. The APU (airborne auxiliary power unit) was troubleshot to a bad starter. The starter was not available, so the APU was rendered inoperative. I followed the MEL and there were no dispatch deviation procedures. (The MEL had a revision date of dec/92.) a few weeks later, I noticed that the MEL book was revised (dated apr/94). This new MEL has dispatch deviation procedures for maintenance. The APU circuit breaker 'APU start' must be pulled and collared. (Our MEL book was not revised at the time I performed maintenance.) the date the new revision was inserted was 5/xx/94.
