Narrative:

When using the riverton, wy (riw) VOR for communications with casper radio, the automated voice from riw continue, making communication very difficult and resulting in numerous 'report last transmission' requests. This has happened in more than one occasion. However, sometimes it is ok. I have also experienced this in page, A2 (pge) when communication with prescott radio. I just keep asking for clarifications until both of us are satified we understand. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter said the AWOS broadcast continued even when the FSS specialist was transmitting on VOR frequency 108.8. He added that he had been back to riw since then and the problem seems to have been fixed.
