Narrative:

During climb to FL350 with pms vertical navigation controling the aircraft, the nose pitched up and a climb of 5000 to 6000 FPM (or more) was commanded. Because we were approaching level off altitude, it was difficult to level (or prevent overshoot) at FL350 and the smooth descent was begun at approximately 35600 ft. No altitude overshoot indicated by ATC. Return to altitude was accomplished with autoplt off. Supplemental information from acn 268613: we were on autoplt B with pms engaged. Write up of autoplt/pms made in aircraft logbook. Proper altitude was set in pms which made no effort to capture.

RETURN TO ALT WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH AUTOPLT OFF. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 268613: WE WERE ON AUTOPLT B WITH PMS ENGAGED. WRITE UP OF AUTOPLT/PMS MADE IN ACFT LOGBOOK.
