Narrative:
Just after takeoff, upon gear retraction, I lost all electrical power. Therefore I also lost all communication with ATC. I was cleared by clearance delivery to fly heading 280 then climb to and maintain 4500 ft until clear of arsa. I followed those instructions until clear of bna airspace, then proceeded to an outlying airport and landed. I then call bna tower (departure) and informed them of my problem. No further problems. Electrical failure caused by a battery short.
