Narrative:

On arrival logbook was checked, noticed night before #2 engine was damaged, looked at log, proper signoff. All inspections complete, pushback normal, start normal. On rotation #2 failure. Cleaned up, declared emergency. Tried unsuccessful restart. Ord tower assigned runway 27R. I requested runway 27L. Uneventful landing. Suggest: better inspection on engine damage and mechanic should brief crew on repairs. ATC should always assign longest possible runway.
