Narrative:

Upon landing on runway 34 at independence state airport, engine quit. Decided to roll off into grass adjacent to runway because of student traffic in pattern. Left landing gear collided with runway light bending over light. No damage to aircraft. Inspection of engine discovered idle adjust screw in carburetor had backed completely out causing extreme leaning when engine reduced to idle, killing engine. Aircraft is stinson 108-1 with 150 hp franklin engine and man/sch carburetor. Nose high attitude of aircraft limited visibility.

Title: PLT OF A PVT SMA SEL ACFT HIT A RWY BOUNDARY LIGHT WHEN DIVERTING THE ACFT OFF THE SIDE OF THE RWY DURING LNDG ROLL BECAUSE OF THE ENG QUITTING.
