Narrative:

Aircraft is 1946 piper J-3 on skis. Pilot was in front seat, pregnant passenger in back seat. During preflight control check it was noted that aft control movement was prevented by size of passenger belly. Adjustments were made to correct the situation. All indications in runup were normal. Static power was available for takeoff, the tail was flying and takeoff run appeared normal. Passenger readjusted seat position and aft movement of stick was not possible for aircraft rotation. Takeoff was aborted at go/no-go position on runway. Tailwheel was lowered for braking. Increased angle of attack coupled with ground speed brought airplane over 2 (snow) wind rows. Aircraft struck breakaway taxi sign and plow marker. Damage to sign was $8.00. Damage to aircraft is less than $15.00. No injuries. Flight should not have begun with pregnant passenger.
