Narrative:
We had landed at lax on a red-eye and were clearing runway 24R on the high-speed. We were to hold short 24L. As we discussed the after landing, I noticed we were approaching 24L. I immediately stopped, but beyond the hold line. An l- 1011 took off and another 20 ft and we would have been on the runway. Contributing causes: close proximity of 2 runways, flying a red-eye, doing an after landing checklist, poorly painted hold line. Corrective: insure that we hold short before doing anything else.
