Narrative:

Flight from slc - msy, called over okc and advised #2 oil quantity down to 3 quarts. Pressure and temperature ok. Flight called back and advised was 230 NM from msy. Oil quantity down to 1 quart and had shut down #2 engine as precautionary. No emergency was declared, flight landed with no incident. Flight crew advised 14 quarts of oil were added in slc. Previous legs psc-boi-slc. Maintenance wanted flight to go to dfw, so if engine had to be changed, it wouldn't have to be trucked from dfw to msy.
