Narrative:

Flight aborted takeoff roll for unsafe confign warning. We had just had an unscheduled aircraft change from a 300 model to a 500 model. The minimum flap setting for takeoff in a -500 is flaps 5 degrees. In our haste to get underway, we did not pick up that we were in a -500 since both cockpits are identical. When the first officer filled out the takeoff data sheet he wrote '1' under flap setting. I called for flaps 1 on taxi out. During takeoff we got a warning horn, aborted, cleared the runway, reset the flaps and taxied back for takeoff. I have since instituted several checks to ensure this mistake will not be repeated.
