Narrative:

A scheduled far part 135 flight from phl-lns on jan/tue/94. We flew an ILS 8 to minimums. Landed on a snow covered runway. Braking action reported poor, visibility 1/2 mi and snow. We were told by the lns tower to back taxi on runway 8, taxi to ramp. Taxied via the most direct route by taxiway C to the ramp. Between the ramp and taxiway C there was excessive snow from snow removal equipment that was unnoticed by flight crew and aircraft was taxied into the snow. Both propellers struck the snow, causing a slight bending of propellers and unknown if engines were damaged. Aircraft was grounded until further notice. Corrective actions: tower should be aware of excessive snow buildups from snow removal equipment and keep people informed on these sits.

Narrative: A SCHEDULED FAR PART 135 FLT FROM PHL-LNS ON JAN/TUE/94. WE FLEW AN ILS 8 TO MINIMUMS. LANDED ON A SNOW COVERED RWY. BRAKING ACTION RPTED POOR, VISIBILITY 1/2 MI AND SNOW. WE WERE TOLD BY THE LNS TWR TO BACK TAXI ON RWY 8, TAXI TO RAMP. TAXIED VIA THE MOST DIRECT RTE BY TXWY C TO THE RAMP. BTWN THE RAMP AND TXWY C THERE WAS EXCESSIVE SNOW FROM SNOW REMOVAL EQUIP THAT WAS UNNOTICED BY FLC AND ACFT WAS TAXIED INTO THE SNOW. BOTH PROPS STRUCK THE SNOW, CAUSING A SLIGHT BENDING OF PROPS AND UNKNOWN IF ENGS WERE DAMAGED. ACFT WAS GNDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: TWR SHOULD BE AWARE OF EXCESSIVE SNOW BUILDUPS FROM SNOW REMOVAL EQUIP AND KEEP PEOPLE INFORMED ON THESE SITS.
