Narrative:

We were cleared to taxi to runway 34 at cll. In order to taxi to runway 34, you must cross over it to a taxiway on the other side. There was no other traffic in the area. We taxied over runway 34 and ground control yelled at us for crossing it. I thought we were cleared. There aren't many airports that have this kind of taxiway. I think that if ATC wants me to taxi to a runway and hold short, it would be a good idea for them to tell me to taxi to runway 34 but hold short of it.

Title: UNAUTH RWY ENTRY XING OP.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 34 AT CLL. IN ORDER TO TAXI TO RWY 34, YOU MUST CROSS OVER IT TO A TXWY ON THE OTHER SIDE. THERE WAS NO OTHER TFC IN THE AREA. WE TAXIED OVER RWY 34 AND GND CTL YELLED AT US FOR XING IT. I THOUGHT WE WERE CLRED. THERE AREN'T MANY ARPTS THAT HAVE THIS KIND OF TXWY. I THINK THAT IF ATC WANTS ME TO TAXI TO A RWY AND HOLD SHORT, IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA FOR THEM TO TELL ME TO TAXI TO RWY 34 BUT HOLD SHORT OF IT.
