Narrative:

After departure runway 28L pit, departure control advised transponder code on wrong code -- noticed it was set on 1200 -- reset to code provided by departure control. Flew to scheduled destination, cmh, and subsequently realized I forgot to get IFR clearance from the ACARS via pre departure clearance in pit. Perhaps inclusion of a checklist item for 'clearance received' might prevent recurrence.
