Narrative:

After our arrival in hnl, the ground personnel gave the captain (the only one who could see him) confusing hand signals that resulted in releasing the parking brakes prior to chocks being put in place. The aircraft rolled back approximately 15 ft before copilot noticed motion and reset brakes. I think that brakes should remain set until ground crewman states 'chocks in, release brakes' over interphone.

Narrative: AFTER OUR ARR IN HNL, THE GND PERSONNEL GAVE THE CAPT (THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD SEE HIM) CONFUSING HAND SIGNALS THAT RESULTED IN RELEASING THE PARKING BRAKES PRIOR TO CHOCKS BEING PUT IN PLACE. THE ACFT ROLLED BACK APPROX 15 FT BEFORE COPLT NOTICED MOTION AND RESET BRAKES. I THINK THAT BRAKES SHOULD REMAIN SET UNTIL GND CREWMAN STATES 'CHOCKS IN, RELEASE BRAKES' OVER INTERPHONE.
