Narrative:

Had RNAV set to en route RNAV to airport. Punched off RNAV to VOR and then didn't set to ILS back course runway 13. In confusion, let altitude slip below 3000 ft before storg intersection. Saw airport after storg intersection. Needed to verify that ILS back course was selected. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter couldn't remember details but said he had VOR information in one position of his RNAV and ILS information in another. He pushed the wrong button and was chasing VOR information instead of ILS. During the ensuing confusion, he simply descended below the minimum crossing altitude at storg intersection.
