Narrative:

While returning to the gate due to a flap problem, our ramp operations assigned us a parking spot near the end of our ramp. The ramp marshall began directing us into the spot looking at the clearance on our right wing tip, and the right wing tip of the mdt to our right. We were signaled to stop at that point, while the marshall checked the clearance of our right horizontal stabilizer, and the mdt's right wing tip. The marshall returned and told us to begin a tight left turn. Meanwhile, 2 ramp agents working the rear cargo of the mdt stopped working and began watching us as opposed to performing the function of wing walker. As we followed our marshall's directions, the 2 ramp agents that were standing and watching, gave us a sudden motion to hold. We were then notified that our right horizontal stabilizer had indeed come into contact with the mdt's upper right wing tip.
