Narrative:

I was on climb out from ojc. Tower cleared a left turn wbound. Left that tower to idx tower who cleared me at 3000 ft across their air traffic area. Within 2 mins a single engine low wing passed 200 ft over us. The tower said there were other aircraft in the area after I told him about the near miss. I should have been told of the aircraft in the area. I don't believe the tower person was acting correctly.

Narrative: I WAS ON CLBOUT FROM OJC. TWR CLRED A L TURN WBOUND. LEFT THAT TWR TO IDX TWR WHO CLRED ME AT 3000 FT ACROSS THEIR ATA. WITHIN 2 MINS A SINGLE ENG LOW WING PASSED 200 FT OVER US. THE TWR SAID THERE WERE OTHER ACFT IN THE AREA AFTER I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE NEAR MISS. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD OF THE ACFT IN THE AREA. I DON'T BELIEVE THE TWR PERSON WAS ACTING CORRECTLY.
