Narrative:

Aircraft ron'ed at non maintenance station due to maintenance problem. Maintenance problem was corrected and properly signed off but aircraft was not signed off for required 24 hour maintenance release. I advised mechanic at jax that aircraft needed a maintenance release sign off. He told me that the aircraft was properly signed off and was ok for flight. I then called houston maintenance control and told them that I did not think that the aircraft was properly signed off. Houston advised me that aircraft was properly signed off and ok for flight. I then asked houston maintenance control for a second opinion. A maintenance control supervisor was put on the line and assured me that the aircraft was properly signed off. After arriving in houston I found out that maintenance control was not correct. The aircraft was not properly signed off. Thus, this report.
