Narrative:
I was the PF and the captain was working the radios on an oceanic flight northbound on A-300. We had reports of turbulence ahead at our altitude while inbound to catch and put a request in for an altitude change at umman. A while later we got a call from new york oceanic saying that our request was denied. I had my (#2) omega in position readout mode to 'see' when we reached umman. After this, the captain left the cockpit for a few mins to use the lavatory. He was back in the cockpit about 5-10 mins when we got a SELCAL from new york oceanic requesting our catch progress. We had passed catch about 20 mins earlier and the captain had not made a position report at catch. I believe that I did not notice the omission because 1) he had been talking to new york in the vicinity of catch about our altitude request, 2) I was in position mode on the #2 omega and did not notice the moment we passed the waypoint for catch.
