Narrative:

Our flight was handed over to tower. The PNF switched frequency to mem tower. PF called for a landing check, which was completed. On final, both crew members failed to ensure we had a landing clearance with the tower. Consequently, our flight landed without a landing clearance. Contributing factors: fatigue. I am on reserve and was called at XX30Z hours to fly a 4 day trip for a copilot who did not show for their trip. The first 2 legs of the trip were night flts: dtw-las departing XA26Z and arrival XE39Z, and las-mem departing XG58Z and arrival XM53Z. I had been up for 24 hours with no sleep. Being on reserve with short notice to fly gave me no opportunity to prepare for the night flying. Tower communication: on short final (2 mi) mem tower made a transmission to an aircraft holding short of runway 18R. The transmission informed the aircraft on the ground to be ready for takeoff after the aircraft on a 2 mi final lands. This transmission did not help give us a clue that we did not have a landing clearance. In fact, it did the opposite for me. It gave me the feeling that tower knew we were on final and landing.

Title: LNDG WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: OUR FLT WAS HANDED OVER TO TWR. THE PNF SWITCHED FREQ TO MEM TWR. PF CALLED FOR A LNDG CHK, WHICH WAS COMPLETED. ON FINAL, BOTH CREW MEMBERS FAILED TO ENSURE WE HAD A LNDG CLRNC WITH THE TWR. CONSEQUENTLY, OUR FLT LANDED WITHOUT A LNDG CLRNC. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: FATIGUE. I AM ON RESERVE AND WAS CALLED AT XX30Z HRS TO FLY A 4 DAY TRIP FOR A COPLT WHO DID NOT SHOW FOR THEIR TRIP. THE FIRST 2 LEGS OF THE TRIP WERE NIGHT FLTS: DTW-LAS DEPARTING XA26Z AND ARR XE39Z, AND LAS-MEM DEPARTING XG58Z AND ARR XM53Z. I HAD BEEN UP FOR 24 HRS WITH NO SLEEP. BEING ON RESERVE WITH SHORT NOTICE TO FLY GAVE ME NO OPPORTUNITY TO PREPARE FOR THE NIGHT FLYING. TWR COM: ON SHORT FINAL (2 MI) MEM TWR MADE A XMISSION TO AN ACFT HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 18R. THE XMISSION INFORMED THE ACFT ON THE GND TO BE READY FOR TKOF AFTER THE ACFT ON A 2 MI FINAL LANDS. THIS XMISSION DID NOT HELP GIVE US A CLUE THAT WE DID NOT HAVE A LNDG CLRNC. IN FACT, IT DID THE OPPOSITE FOR ME. IT GAVE ME THE FEELING THAT TWR KNEW WE WERE ON FINAL AND LNDG.
