Narrative:

Air carrier X on arrival to sfo from south with airport in sight, cleared visual runway 28R behind widebody transport arriving from east for runway 28L. Told to follow sfo 095 degree radial till over bridge over san francisco bay. I was hand flying approach as instructed while complying with assigned speeds (which were changed numerous times). Upon crossing bridge, widebody transport was directly next to flight and in sight. Sfo tower then instructed us to fly s- turns on final for spacing for departing aircraft runway 28R. Flight was at 2000 ft AGL s-turning when aircraft cleared onto runway for takeoff. As PF, I lost sight of widebody transport when forced to turn away and was then forced to fly sharp intercept angle to runway and was forced behind widebody transport. (This was what I didn't want with strong wake turbulence from widebody transport and very close approachs and lndgs.) upon turning final, we were bounced about by widebody transport wake on short final and landing. Aircraft was always under control, but potential was there for serious problem with wake turbulence.

Title: MULTIPLE RWY OP PARALLEL RWYS. ACR X MAINTAINING VISUAL FROM WDB WHILE ACFT ON APCHS.

Narrative: ACR X ON ARR TO SFO FROM S WITH ARPT IN SIGHT, CLRED VISUAL RWY 28R BEHIND WDB ARRIVING FROM E FOR RWY 28L. TOLD TO FOLLOW SFO 095 DEG RADIAL TILL OVER BRIDGE OVER SAN FRANCISCO BAY. I WAS HAND FLYING APCH AS INSTRUCTED WHILE COMPLYING WITH ASSIGNED SPDS (WHICH WERE CHANGED NUMEROUS TIMES). UPON XING BRIDGE, WDB WAS DIRECTLY NEXT TO FLT AND IN SIGHT. SFO TWR THEN INSTRUCTED US TO FLY S- TURNS ON FINAL FOR SPACING FOR DEPARTING ACFT RWY 28R. FLT WAS AT 2000 FT AGL S-TURNING WHEN ACFT CLRED ONTO RWY FOR TKOF. AS PF, I LOST SIGHT OF WDB WHEN FORCED TO TURN AWAY AND WAS THEN FORCED TO FLY SHARP INTERCEPT ANGLE TO RWY AND WAS FORCED BEHIND WDB. (THIS WAS WHAT I DIDN'T WANT WITH STRONG WAKE TURB FROM WDB AND VERY CLOSE APCHS AND LNDGS.) UPON TURNING FINAL, WE WERE BOUNCED ABOUT BY WDB WAKE ON SHORT FINAL AND LNDG. ACFT WAS ALWAYS UNDER CTL, BUT POTENTIAL WAS THERE FOR SERIOUS PROB WITH WAKE TURB.
