Narrative:

During preflight/before takeoff checks, a maintenance discrepancy was noted. Maintenance personnel arrived and the before engine start list had been completed by the flight crew. The crew exited the flight deck and allowed the mechanic to occupy the captain's seat. The mechanic started the corrective action without the technical manual. When I returned to the flight deck with the functional checklist, we read through it to insure the items were corrected properly. However, the mechanic had pulled the aural warning breaker without our knowledge and the maintenance checklist had not called for it. The mechanic exited the flight deck to complete the paper work while we assumed our duty position to expedite the departure. We taxied for departure and completed the before takeoff checklist. On takeoff roll we received a takeoff aural warning of 'trim.' we looked and the trim was set correctly so we aborted the takeoff and exited the runway. We then discovered the breaker pulled and reset the breaker and performed a functional check of the 'takeoff aural warning' and it was satisfactory. Another takeoff was made and flight continued without further incident. Moral of the episode: run the entire checklist after maintenance leaves just in case they did something not called for in the maintenance procedure.

Title: TKOF ABORTED IN DAWN OP.

Narrative: DURING PREFLT/BEFORE TKOF CHKS, A MAINT DISCREPANCY WAS NOTED. MAINT PERSONNEL ARRIVED AND THE BEFORE ENG START LIST HAD BEEN COMPLETED BY THE FLC. THE CREW EXITED THE FLT DECK AND ALLOWED THE MECH TO OCCUPY THE CAPT'S SEAT. THE MECH STARTED THE CORRECTIVE ACTION WITHOUT THE TECHNICAL MANUAL. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE FLT DECK WITH THE FUNCTIONAL CHKLIST, WE READ THROUGH IT TO INSURE THE ITEMS WERE CORRECTED PROPERLY. HOWEVER, THE MECH HAD PULLED THE AURAL WARNING BREAKER WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE AND THE MAINT CHKLIST HAD NOT CALLED FOR IT. THE MECH EXITED THE FLT DECK TO COMPLETE THE PAPER WORK WHILE WE ASSUMED OUR DUTY POS TO EXPEDITE THE DEP. WE TAXIED FOR DEP AND COMPLETED THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST. ON TKOF ROLL WE RECEIVED A TKOF AURAL WARNING OF 'TRIM.' WE LOOKED AND THE TRIM WAS SET CORRECTLY SO WE ABORTED THE TKOF AND EXITED THE RWY. WE THEN DISCOVERED THE BREAKER PULLED AND RESET THE BREAKER AND PERFORMED A FUNCTIONAL CHK OF THE 'TKOF AURAL WARNING' AND IT WAS SATISFACTORY. ANOTHER TKOF WAS MADE AND FLT CONTINUED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MORAL OF THE EPISODE: RUN THE ENTIRE CHKLIST AFTER MAINT LEAVES JUST IN CASE THEY DID SOMETHING NOT CALLED FOR IN THE MAINT PROC.
