Narrative:

I received a handoff from vancouver approach control on an aircraft from vancouver to sea. I do not remember if I informed the d- side that the aircraft was airborne so he could enter it in the computer. Since departures off vancouver automatic-acquire on our scopes, I did not attempt to start track on the limited data block. I was then distracted by another traffic situation and when that was resolved, I was relieved from position by an instructor and his trainee. I did not remember the aircraft was in our airspace, and since it hadn't been departed in the computer, no track started. About 20 mins after being relieved, I was informed that the aircraft had entered sea TRACON airspace without a handoff.
