Narrative:

Aircraft was being flown by the first officer. All appropriate checklists were completed and the visual approach ended with a normal flare to land. Upon landing, an unusual deceleration was experienced. The aircraft remained on the centerline and was able to taxi off the runway on its own power. The ewr airport emergency equipment were sent to the aircraft to investigate a possible wheel well fire. They determined that there was no fire, but that 3 main tires (the left 2 main and the right inboard main) had blown. An emergency was declared and the airport closed for approximately 10 mins. There were no passenger on board and no injuries to the crew of 3. WX conditions were no factor at the time of landing.
