Narrative:

I am both a licensed pilot (not current) and an a&P mechanic. I was taxiing for maintenance purpose only with no intention of flying. During this procedure, an undetermined brake failure developed, probably air in the left brake line, causing an unexpected loss of control. This caused the aircraft to go through a wood RAIL fence out into the nearby highway and stopped. There were no injuries and little damage to aircraft.
