Narrative:

At XA00 on sep/wed/93, I landed at rdu runway 23R in a 90 horsepwr small aircraft. After touching down, the aircraft entered a 'ground loop.' to avoid scrubbing the tires and possible wingtip damage, I elected to enter the grass off the right side of the runway. I entered the grass berm and taxied from the berm back onto the runway and continued taxiing to taxiway C. I was in contact with the tower at all times. Tower asked if everything was ok, and I said it was and the tower told airport vehicles that no follow-up was necessary. Tower told me to taxi to taxiway C and contact ground. The winds at the time of the landing were 340 degrees at 9 KTS. The winds were a little gusty, right rear quartering wind.
